Happy Thanksgiving

Of the many things I'm thankful for this year, one of them is being given the opportunity to do what I love. I mean, what I truly love. :) This business has been such a joy for me this year and I'm so thankful to be able to share that with you.

I thought it would be appropriate to share a few family portraits I've captured this fall.

I wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. Enjoy the time with those you love.

And, one of my personal favorites because its my family. :)

A Successful Day of Mini Sessions

Last Saturday, I held the third, and final day of holiday card mini sessions. This was the most well attended one of this season! We had beautiful weather and some great spots at Rollins College. Thanks to everyone who participated this year. Here's a "sneak preview" of three of the sessions:

Due to the popularity of these mini sessions, I'm planning on scheduling some additional sessions throughout the year. Make sure to check my website and blog for details.

Fun Stuff for You and Your Kids: Found on the Web

Lots of great web finds this week for both you and your kids!

Wonderful Handcrafted Jewlery and Bead Art I purchased a couple pieces from this site a few months back and its just gorgeous!

Olliebolen.com Really great website with LOTS of cool toys, games and clothes for kids.

Todd Parr! Absolutely one of my favorite children's authors and illustrators. Wonderful messages throughout his books and kids love the fun colors and graphic designs.

Any of the wooden toys that Garnet Hill offers is cool, but Glockenspiel Man is my personal favorite

Check back next week for more great links.

Silly Sisters

The fun thing about the fall season is that I have so many fun photographs to share from photo sessions. These sisters were a blast (as you can see from their pictures). Just plain silly!

I love this family portrait!

Couldn't resist getting them in on the wide angle fun. :)

Both of these sisters had the most gorgeous eyes. :)

Fun Stuff For You and Your Kids: Found on the Web

I've recently run across a couple of really fun kids-related websites that I thought you'd enjoy.

Tiny Planets
A great website that makes science fun -- born from a collaboration with a UK animation company and Sesame Workshop, producers of Sesame Street.

The Music of Elizabeth Mitchell
Check out Sunshine to listen to her rendition of "You Are My Sunshine". I love it!

The Hippest Kid
Great blog with tons of interesting kids products and resources.

If you have any favorite sites on the web, please feel free to share them in the comments section.

Enjoy! And check back for more links later in the week.

Your Words

I received this yesterday in my email and it made me smile. :)

Karen,

My family adores the pictures you took of our precious boys. There are some contemporary ones that I like and some traditional ones that my mom likes. I love that I have so many choices and the pictures are all moments in time rather than cookie cutter poses. I have to tell you that normally I am exhausted after having the boys pictures taken. Lugging 6 month old twins and bribing a 9 year old to go to a photo studio is not an event I look forward to. It is disheartening to schedule an appointment at a studio and to then be told that I need to wake up the babies or that I don't have time to feed them because we only have a certain amount of time to get pictures taken. Everyone was relaxed in our home without the hot studio lights. I knew for sure that I had made the right choice by having a session at home when my 9 year old who normally HATES having his picture taken asked you to take his picture. He even commented after you left that you didn't make him "sit like this or like that and turn your head all funny." My pictures are so special, not just because they are of my boys, but because they don't look like anyone else's...they are truly originals. I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful moments that you have captured, and I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday than with you snapping hundreds of pictures of my favorite boys!

Thank you so much,

Stacy Johnson and family

Stacy, Thank you!

Double the Love

I had the pleasure of photographing the most adorable set of twins and their very charming (and handsome) older brother last weekend. I don't usually post images before I conduct a proofing session with the client, but Mom was very eager for a sneak preview. :)

Isn't he a cutie? :) (This looks more like a studio photo, but it was really a well-lit corner in the dining room. We were sitting on the floor. The walls were painted that great red color!)

And, I just love this moment. :)
