It was so nice to meet you

I just got home from the second day of participation in the Maitland Spring Art Festival. What a beautiful weekend to be outside enjoying our great Florida weather. I talked to so many great people yesterday and today and really enjoyed meeting everyone! If you stopped by the booth I shared with Posh Parenting, I thank you. Welcome to my online newsletter and don't forget to visit my website. If there are any additional questions I can answer for you, please don't hesitate to ask.

Ok, now I've got to go and soak my feet, because they are really tired right now! :)

You + Me

Tonight I had the pleasure of doing an engagement session with the wonderful Courtney and Frank. They were so great to work with because they were up for any kind of creative idea I had. Our location was Lake Eola and the light tonight was absolutely perfect. :)

Stop by and say Hi!

This weekend, I'll be exhibiting at the Maitland Art Festival. The weather looks like its going to be absolutely fantastic, and Lake Lily in Maitland is always a great place to spend a Saturday or a Sunday.

Be sure to look for my booth and stop by and say hi! :)

The Maitland Art Festival is located around Lake Lily, off of 17-92 in Maitland, FL. From I-4, take the Lee Road exit and go east. Go north on 17-92 and you'll see Lake Lily on your left side a few miles up the road.

Sweet Spring

I had a fantastic session with an adorable brother and sister last week. We did their session in the backyard, which had fantastic light. Look at these adorable siblings!

What a handsome young man. His smile will charm the socks off of you. :)

And, this little beauty was just precious! She was mostly smiles, but I got a few serious ones. I think she looks very movie star glamour here!

It's Almost High School Senior Portrait Season

Attention Class of 2008! It's almost time to start scheduling your senior portraits. (And, to anyone in the Class of 2007 that still has to have their portraits taken... call me now!)

This morning I had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous young woman.

She does the rebellious teen thing really well, doesn't she? ;)

The purpose of this photo shoot was not to get her senior portraits taken, but to do some headshots for submission to a community theater group. BUT, I'm going to be seeing her soon because she is one of my 2007 Senior Ambassadors.

What is a Senior Ambassador? Well, I'm glad you asked. :)

Senior Ambassadors
Each year I have a small group of high school students who are designated my Senior Ambassadors for their high school graduating class. In the Spring of their Junior year, we do a fun photo shoot to get promotional pictures and then I arm them with lots of goodies to share with their friends. During the session we pick some really fun locations and try new and different ways of making a senior portrait unique. It's a lot of fun for both the kids and me. :) This young lady is part of a small group of Senior Ambassadors for the Class of 2008.

If you know someone who is currently a junior and might be interested in the Senior Ambassador program, please tell them to email me at karenleslie@mac.com or call me at 407.340.8088. I limit it to a certain number of kids per high school, so when they call I can let them know whether there is already representation from their school.

So, the next question on your mind is What are the senior portrait packages?

Senior Portrait Packages
There are three different portrait packages this year, starting with the standard Session Fee where you can pick and choose what photos you want to purchase. I've also put together two additional packages that included a couple of hundred dollars of added value to each one. You can check them all out at the link on the right side of this page.

And, finally, I know you are asking yourself, Why should I get my senior portraits done by KarenLeslie Photography?

Well, that's an easy answer. First, KarenLeslie Photography is all about senior portraits that are about YOU and YOUR life. We do this by getting OUT of the studio and going on location. Want an urban setting? Beach setting? Natural setting? There are so many wonderful locations in Central Florida. Then, we also do this by eliminating all cookie cutter poses. You are an individual, why not make your senior portraits reflect this? And, finally, KarenLeslie Photography has some really cool products, from DVD slideshows of your session to customized wallet cards to coffee table books to custom designed invitations.

Contact me today to book your senior portrait session.

Your Life. Captured.

I had a session this morning with a great family who were all together for a week's vacation, coming from such cold destinations such as Michigan and New York. We spent some time in the beautiful Florida weather this morning getting some family photographs made.

Before I share this photo, I want to assure the family that I did indeed get others where everyone is standing still, in the frame and looking at the camera. But, as I was quickly going through the files after I downloaded them, this one caught my eye and made me laugh. I couldn't resist posting it.

This is real life. This is trying to get 6 adults and 4 children (1 year old, 2 year old twins and a 5 year old) in a photograph ... at the same time ... and looking at the camera. And, I do have to add that this was taken at the very end of our session, just about when the kids were done. :) Missing from the photo is one adult chasing one of the twins on the other side of the yard. :)

I love this photograph. This photo tells the story of real life ... your life, my life, all our lives. As we know, life isn't perfectly planned and posed. It's messy, beautiful, tumbled, joyous, unscripted ... and just plain wonderful.

You'll notice a new look to the top of this newsletter. What you see is my new logo, new colors and my new tagline. When I saw this photograph, I couldn't think of a better representation of the heart of my photography business: Your Life. Captured.

:)
